Exhibition project : FOOTPRINTS OF THE TIMES

Life is only a succession of marks that we leave behind us during our passage on this earth, negative as well as positive, some more striking and deeper than others.

On the sand of time, men leave their marks so that we can identify them and never forget them. The very first is, of course, the fingerprint. But there are many other marks that love, society, politics and religion leave, and over which we obviously have little power.

Thus on the white walls of Charlie Hebdo’s editorial office on January 7, 2015, the fingerprints left after the passage of men testify to the enormity of human stupidity. On thousands of pages of the newspaper and in the minds of billions of humans, those who left us that day will leave the imprint of their talent.

The elements of nature are no exception to this rule. After centuries and kilometers of travel, the runoff water has ended up leaving many marks on the stones of the Atakora that litter their path.

Impressions that bear witness to present and past times.
’’My artistic approach is expressed through the mixing of materials such as wire mesh, wire and paint. In addition to my research, I question and thus become the griot of these thousands of marks, small or large, negative or positive, which remain the witnesses of the present times and the past to build our future”.
